Longtime Bergenfield Teacher Robert 'Bob' Bothe Dies At 70

MAHWAH, N.J. -- Robert "Bob" John Bothe, of Mahwah, died on Tuesday, March 21. He was 70.

Born in Englewood, Bothe taught at Roy W. Brown Middle School in Bergenfield for 43 years. He "was a mentor and friend to both students and colleagues," information from the funeral home noted.

An avid reader that could be found most of the day at the Mahwah Library, he loved cooking, music, traveling and going to dinner with his family and friends. He was a member of the OMEGA Men's Club and always had an interesting fact to tell about music. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Bothe is survived by his wife, Annemarie (Freck) Nally; children Robert Joseph Bothe and his wife Lori, Michael Otto Bothe and his wife Janice, and John Edward Nally and his wife Lindsay; and grandchildren Jordan, Kate, Joseph, Kiersten and John Bothe.

He is also survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth, and his sister, Janet Kissack. He was preceded by his father, Otto, and his brother, John.

All will gather at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, March 24, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 29 N. Washington Ave., in Bergenfield, for a 10 a.m. funeral mass. Entombment will be private. Riewerts Memorial Home, in Bergenfield, is assisting with arrangements.
