BERGENFIELD, N.J. – Elizabeth Reed Riewerts, a resident of Bergenfield, died Saturday, March 12. She was 97.
She was raised in Pennington and was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. She had been a resident of Bergenfield since 1945. She was active in the Contemporary Women's Club and was a member of the South Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her family, Margaret Kaplen, Henry Riewerts and his wife, Diane, Elizabeth Hillegas, Barbara Kwiecinski and her husband, Henry, grandchildren, Peter Tate, James Tate, Juliana Berliet, Leah Riewets, David Hillegas, Deborah Hillegas, Colin Barber; Lydia Imperiale and Ian Barber; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Brar V. Riewerts; and her parents.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 p.m. at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Ave., Bergenfield. A prayer service will conclue the visiting hours. Burial will be private.
