Ariadni Pavlides, 89, Dumont Resident

DUMONT, N.J. -- Ariadni Pavlides, of Dumont, died on Tuesday, Feb. 21. She was 89.

Born in Cyprus, Pavlides immigrated to the United States in 1950. She lived in Englewood, prior to moving to Dumont in 1965. She was a hostess at her husband's business, the Forest Diner, in Englewood.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; children Peter and his wife Janice, and Joanna and her husband George Trahanas; grandchildren John, Ariana, Kali Trahanas and her fiancé Demetri, Stephanie Reinertsen and her husband Don, and Paul Pavlides; great-granddaughter Eleni; and sister Maria, of Cyprus.

Pavlides is preceded by her parents, Eleni (Christofis) and Ioannis Straduras. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., in Dumont. The funeral service will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 51 Paramus Rd., in Paramus. Interment will follow, at George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus.
