DUMONT, N.J. — They’re messy, they’re spicy and they’re addictive. It’s no wonder they’re often served by the dozen.

We asked Daily Voice readers for their favorite Bergen County chicken wing spots and now have five finalists in the running.

Cast your ballot for the one you like best – then tell your friends. You can only vote once.

In the spirit of "winging it," each finalist has been profiled this week, with the contest ending 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23.

Chicken Todd's, 49 W Madison Ave., Dumont (201) 275-5939

Wing Choices: Hot buffalo small batch, the (Loco Lucas);" Chocolate Thai (extremely hot), Death Star (the hottest sauce which means the customer must sign a release), Perry's Pleasure (pineapple hot sauce) and Rasta Fire (THC based-based hot sauce for medical marijuana patients only in participating states).

They also offer a Sicilian Lemony Garlic, Bangkok Blast (sweet chili Thai).

Most Popular Heat Level: "Screaming Sally," and if you can hack 11.5 of them you win a Tee-shirt. The competition is named after Owner Todd Provenzano's ex-wife. "If I couldn't last 12 years, you shouldn't be able to last five minutes," he said.

Good To Know: The secret to Chicken Todd's wings is in the method Provenzano has calculated down to a science."We season and bake them first so they have a baked-chicken flavor," said Provenzano, "and then we fry them to get the skin crispy."

Todd's will be re-instating Tuesday Wing Night after Thanksgiving when wings will go for 60 cents a piece.
