BERGENFIELD, NJ -- High school student and resident Matthew Bansil assisted the Bergenfield Public Health Nurses this summer as a volunteer intern.
He created a safety poster at Borough Hall and worked on a Zika awareness Power Point presentation on this urgent health topic in the news, which will be used at educational outreach activities in Bergenfield.
"The community service and his willingness to help our programs goals have been very appreciated. Matthew also learned about Public Health outreach and the community we serve," said Patricia August, public health nurse supervisor with the Bergenfield Health Department.
Matthew will be a 10th-grader at Bergen County Academies Academy for Medical Science Technology in Hackensack. He is considering being biomedical engineer or becoming a researcher after college.
