BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- Each year, through the Governor's Educator of the Year Program, each of Bergenfield's schools selects and nominates its own Teacher of the Year as its representative.

Each school's winner than has a chance to be selected as Bergen County Teacher of the Year and, eventually, State Teacher of the Year.

Bergenfield's seven schools honored their 2015-16 Bergenfield Teachers of the Year at a Board of Education meeting, Monday night, April 15, with a video presentation and certificates from the Board and the Department of Education. The honorees will be treated to a luncheon in May, co-sponsored by the Bergen County Association of School Administrators and the Bergen County Education Association.

This year's Teachers of the Year are

  • Jesus Meana, Bergenfield High School
  • Kimberly Agosta, Roy W. Brown Middle School
  • Erik Olson, Franklin School
  • Penni Schultz, Hoover School
  • Julie Stimeck, Jefferson School
  • Christine Hopkins, Lincoln School
  • Adrianne Klecha, Washington School
