SHOUT OUT: Exactly one month out of the police academy, a quartet of Port Authority officers helped bring a 71-year-old woman back to life after she collapsed at LaGuardia Airport yesterday.

The woman had no pulse when the officers rushed to her aid just after 2 p.m. yesterday near the United Airlines desk in the lower level of the central terminal, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.

Officer Orivelis Torres began CPR while officers Lenny Guzman, William Mudry and Phat Lam got amd applied a defibrillator, Pentangelo said.

“After the first application the victim was unresponsive,” he said. “However, the victim responded the the second application administered by the officers.”

The woman, a Texas resident who was headed back home at the time, was then taken by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, Pentangelo said. She remained in the Intensive Care Unit this morning, he said.

“The equipment and training used by these officers illustrates the value of both to the traveling public,” Pentangelo said.
