Police Give Simple Advice After 4 Stolen Vehicle Reports In Fairview

FAIRVIEW, N.J. — After four reports of stolen vehicles this week, the Fairview Police Department is urging drivers to lock their doors.

Three of the four vehicles stolen were either Kias or Hyundais, the department said. The fourth was a Mercedes Benz, which was stolen from a dealer and found damaged on Route 80, Daily Voice reported.

There have also been reports of vandalism and vehicle burglaries, where residents left their doors unlocked and personal belongings were stolen.

"Unlocked doors are a crime of opportunity for thieves," police said.
