Ian N. Brown, 23, was arrested by Detective Derek Mattessich and uniformed officers just before 9:30 a.m. Monday after a warranted search of his home and garage at the Brookchester Apartment Complex, Detective Sgt. Kevin Van Saders told Daily Voice.

The raid stemmed from an investigation begun by Mattesich in December involving theft, credit card fraud, and identity theft.

Besides the checks, Brown had several bogus credit cards and some pot, Van Saders said.

He was charged with various credit card fraud offenses, receiving stolen property, theft, and marijuana possession and released on a summons to appear in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
