Edward Marshall, 61, complained of upper-body pain, while his husband, 59-year-old Leroy Fray, 59, sustained a possible broken arm after they were struck while crossing South Washington Avenue at the corner of New Bridge Road outside the Walgreens at 10:46 p.m., Capt. Mustafa Rabboh said Thursday morning.
Bergen County Animal Control removed the 2-foot snake in a box as motorists were detoured around a two-block stretch north of the Walgreens. The Bergen County Animal Shelter was temporarily caring for the reptile.
The driver, a 67-year-old Elmwood Park woman, wasn't injured, Rabboh said. No summonses were immediately issued.
An investigation was continuing.
