Officer Timothy Ammann found the 31-year-old Fort Lauderdale man in his car by the De Boer Drive off ramp from the northbound highway just after 4 p.m. on Oct. 9, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
Ammann administered two doses of Narcan, after which Glen Rock Sgt. Rob Wojtecki and Officer Sam Evans helped remove the victim and assist with rescue breathing, the chief said.
The driver regained consciousness and was treated by Valley Hospital paramedics and Glen Rock Ambulance Corps EMTs before being taken to the hospital, he said.
“In accordance with a directive issued by Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir Grewal earlier this year, a recovery specialist was dispatched to follow up with the victim at Valley Hospital,” Ackermann said.
