Officers on Friday found the victim bleeding heavily from several wounds to the head on Lafayette Place, across from Rosemont Place, Detective Capt. Timothy Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT early this afternoon.
The victim told them that Kenneth Harrison hit him with a wooden cane as part of an ongoing dispute, he said.
Sgt. James Morgan and Officer Fabian Gallego got on the bus and arrested Harrison after a brief struggle, Torell said. They also seized the cane.
“Detectives taped off the bus shelter and about a block’s worth of sidewalk for an hour while they processed the blood-splattered crime scene,” the captain said.
The victim was treated at Englewood Medical Center for the deep cuts, as well as bumps and bruises.
Harrison, meanwhile, was cahrged with aggravated assault and weapons possession.
Bail was set at $15,000.
Harrison, who also had a warrant for possession of burglary tools out of Bergenfield, remained in Bergen Regional this afternoon under the guard of county sheriff’s officers.
