Bergenfield Blood Drive Honors Late Veteran Firefighter

BERGENFIELD, N.J. — The Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps will be holding its annual blood drive in memory of first responder Edward “Ned” Kneisler II on Tuesday, May 17.

Kneisler held the rank of lieutenant, captain and deputy chief for the fire department several times and served as Fire Chief for the Department in 1992, 2001, and 2010.

He also held the executive positions of trustee, secretary, vice president and was current president of Alert Fire Company No. 1.

Kneisler served as an EMT for the BVAC for 14 years, where he was elected to the position of lietenant and captain several times. He was a member of the Bergenfield Fire Rescue Squad for more than 23 years.

The drive will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1 Froelich St. in Bergenfield.
