$1M Bail For Extradited Defendant In Cold-Blooded Paterson Killing

PATERSON, N.J. -- A fugitive captured in South Carolina in the cold-blooded shooting death of another man in Paterson last month was extradited to New Jersey.

Gyasi Allen, 26, was being held on $1 million bail in the Pasaic County Jail, charged with murder in the slaying of Cosmeik Gee, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said..

Marshals took him into custody in Florence County earlier this month on murder charges filed by by Paterson police.

He also is charged with conspiracy to commit muder and various weapons offenses.

Paterson detectives working with investigators from the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office also arrested and charged a 32-year-old city ex-con in the shooting.

Jamal Wade was free on bail when 29-year-old Cosmeik Gee was shot several times while sitting in a vehicle near the corner of 12th Avenue and East 23rd Street around 11:45 p.m. Sept. 30.

In addition to murder, Wade was charged with conspiracy, as well as weapons offenses, the director said.

Like Allen, Wade remained held on $1 million bail in the Passaic County Jail.
