NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Rita Hirchak was 88 when she passed away suddenly Sunday, March 13. Born and raised in Bayonne, she later moved to New Milford, where she and her late husband George would settle and raise their family more than 50 years ago.
She was an executive secretary for many years before retiring in 1996. She was a very dedicated member of the Church of the Ascension, New Milford.
She was the wife of the late George R. Hichak (2008); the mother of Grace Dalgilsh and her late husband Jim, Nancy Sabastiano and her husband Anthony, the late Michael Hirchak, the late Georgine Larkins, and the late June Belthoff and her husband Michael.
She is survived by her sisters Valerie Truskolawski and Leona Landers; grandchildren Brian, Robert, Jennifer and Timothy Belthoff, Russell, Christopher and Kevin Dalgilsh and Thomas and Alex Sabastiano; and great-grandchildren Hannah, Luke, Abiga, and Owen Belthoff.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in her memory at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Ascension, New Milford. Entombment to follow Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitations from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford,
