Joseph A. Gangemi, 88, Dumont Resident

DUMONT, N.J. -- Joseph A. Gangemi, of Dumont, died on Tuesday, Jan. 10. He was 88.

Gangemi formerly owned and operated Westwood's Broadway Exxon. He was a member of Dumont Senior Citizens, where he loved playing cards. An avid bowler and golfer, he enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and fishing on Lake Gerard. 

He is survived by his children, Donald Gangemi and his wife Janice, and Theresa Mason; companion Marilyn Kurtzmann; and grandchildren Kyle Mason, Derrick Kurtzman, Andrew and Danielle Criscuolo, and Ashlyn Kurtzman.

Gangemi was predeceased by his siblings, Stephen and Ralph Gangemi.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, at Riewerts Memorial Home, in Bergenfield. Interment was in Holy Name Cemetery, in Jersey City.
