Donald Pantale, 92, Dumont Resident

DUMONT, N.J. – Donald Pantale, of Dumont, died Tuesday, April 5. He was 92.

He was born in Fulton, N.Y., to  and Joseph and Laura (Tetro) Pantale and was an aircraft mechanic for Curtiss-Wright, Wood Ridge for many years. He retired in 1985. He was also in the Air Force Reserves for 19 years. He had a passion for aviation and the military.

He was the father of Debra Fischer and her husband, James, William Pantale and his wife, Patricia, Donald Pantale and his wife, Stephanie; grandfather of James and Brian Fischer, Christopher, Alana, Olivia, Veronica and Joseph, great-grandfather of James and Charlie Fischer; and brother of Richard and James Pantale.

He was predeceased by his wife, Francesca (Scarola) Pantale; a brother, Robert Pantale; and sister, Anne Taras.

Visitation will take place Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont.

 A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Dumont. Entombment will take place at Garden of Memories, Washington Township.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675; or to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 280 Washington Ave., Dumont.
