NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Bert Toron, of New Milford, died Nov. 19. He was 89.
He was born Aug. 3 1927, in the Bronx to Bessie and Benjamin Toron.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 and served in the Seabees until the end of World War II.
Toron was the former owner of Regal Sportogs in Hackensack for 40 years and then employed as a fabric supervisor at Anne Klein Inc. until his retirement at 71. He moved to New Milford in 1958 and resided there until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Shari (Leo Goldman), Craig (Rosanne Kinder), Susan, (Charles Troyanovski); and grandchildren, Jennifer, Max, Jesse and Sally.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Ruth Mamlok and Ida Toron; and brother, Jerome Toron.
