NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Amparo O. Cabreza, of New Milford, died Monday, Aug. 15. She was 86.
Born March 30, 1930, in Manila, Philippines, she moved to the United States in 1968.
She started working in Cedarhurst, N.Y. as a machine operator. She would later move to New York City, where she would go on to become a pattern maker and assistant designer for many famous fashion houses, such as Donna Karan, French Connection, Don Klein and numerous others.
After retiring, she moved to New Milford to be with her family.
She is survived by her children, Jesus Arizabal, Dante Arizabal, Anabella Paraz, Ofelia Balderama, Gill Cabreza and Antonette Cabreza; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
