Proposed Bill Could Ban New Jersey Governors From Closing Beaches

Remember Beachgate? New Jersey lawmakers do too, and they don't want it to happen again.

A bill making its way to the New Jersey Senate will keep state parks and recreation areas open to the public for seven days ahead of a government shutdown.

The proposed bill comes after last summer's government shutdown, when Chris Christie was spotted basking on one of the beaches that was closed to the public.
