NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- A GoFundMe page aims to help the two surviving children of former New Milford resident Sandy Mazzella and his wife, Stefanie, who authorities said were shot dead -- along with his mother -- by their next-door neighbor in North Carolina.

"At this time, I do not know all of the needs that the children will have. " wrote Laurel Gallion of Garner, NC, a co-worker of Stefanie Mazzella's the past 10 years. "But I know they will need to be taken care of.

"They will need clothing to wear to their parents' and grandmother's funeral this week."

The youngsters are 14 and 7, she said.

Friends and loved ones "also need to get their dogs and cats out of the animal shelter and provide for them as well, Gallion said."These kids love their animals. And, I know that it would mean the world to them to have their furbabies safe and sound."

Sandy Mazzella -- who was graduated from New Milford High School in 1987 -- had been feuding for months with 52-year-old neighbor Jonathan Frederick Sander, according to various published reports.

Sander was being held on three counts of murder following Friday's shooting at the Mazzella home, records show.

Gallion said she will "give the monies directly to the parties taking direct care of the children."
