Bergen County Communities Commemorate 9/11

BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. — It's been 14 years since history's worst terrorist attack on American soil, but we haven't forgotten those killed that day.

Local 9/11 remembrances include:

BERGEN COUNTY: 12:30 p.m. Friday on the steps of the Courthouse, 10 Main St., Hackensack. Also 4 p.m. Friday at the memorial in Overpeck Park on Fort Lee Road in Leonia.

ALLENDALE: 7 p.m. Friday at the Red Barn at Crestwood Lake Park, Klomburg Drive and West Crescent Avenue. Candlelight service planned.

BERGENFIELD: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Coopers Pond, West Church Street and North Prospect Avenue. Hosted by the VFW. 

CLOSTER: 8:30 a.m. Friday at Remembrance Park, Cedar Lane and Harrington Avenue.

CRESSKILL: 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Sgt. John Coughlin Memorial Field on Third Street. Organized by the Junior Football league. 

EDGEWATER: 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Borough Hall courtyard, 55 River Road.

EMERSON: 6:30 p.m. Friday at the firehouse, 146 Thomas St. A new memorial will be dedicated.

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS: 9 a.m. Friday at the firehouse, 475 Sylvan Ave.

FAIR LAWN: 9 a.m. Friday at the Municipal Building, 8-01 Fair Lawn Ave.

FAIRVIEW: 7 p.m. Friday at the 9/11 memorial site at Fairview Avenue and Hancock Place.

FORT LEE: 7 p.m. Friday at the 9/11 Memorial in Constitution Park, between Linwood and Fletcher avenues.

FRANKLIN LAKES: 6 p.m. Friday at Memorial Pond Park behind the Borough Hall.

GLEN ROCK: 6:30 p.m. Friday at Veterans Park, Main and Rodney streets. t

LITTLE FERRY: 8:45 a.m. Friday at in front of Memorial School,130 Liberty Street.

LYNDHURST: 11 a.m. Friday at the 9/11 Memorial Monument in Township Park on Delafield Avenue.

MAYWOOD: 8:45 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park, Grant and West Fairmont avenues. Interfaith “Service of Remembrance” at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Maywood and Thoma avenues.

ORADELL: 7 p.m. Friday at the 9/11 Memorial at Borough Hall, 355 KInderkamack Road.

PARK RIDGE: 6:30 p.m. Friday at Veterans Park. Candelight service. 

RAMSEY: 10 a.m. Friday at the 9/11 Memorial at Finch Park, Church Street at Gertzen Plaza.

RIDGEFIELD PARK: 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Fire Department Monument, Euclid Avenue and Cedar Street.

RIDGEWOOD: 7 p.m. at Mount Carmel Church, Passaic and Prospect streets. 

RIVER EDGE: 6 p.m. Friday at the First Responder’s Monument in front of Borough Hall on Tenney Avenue.

ROCHELLE PARK: 6 p.m. Friday at the memorial at the monuments at Midland School, 300 Rochelle Ave. plus a ceremony at 7:15 at American Legion Post 170 in the pavilion at 33 W. Passaic St.

RUTHERFORD: 7 p.m. Friday in Lincoln Park, 1-15 Highland Cross.

SADDLE RIVER: Patriots Day assembly at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Wandell School, 97 E. Allendale Road. Family members of those who died on 9/11 are invited to attend.

UPPER SADDLE RIVER: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial Plaza, 375 W. Saddle River Road.

WALDWICK: 8:30 a.m. Friday at the memorial at Fire Company 2, Wyckoff Avenue and White Lane.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP: 5 p.m. Friday in front of Town Hall, 350 Hudson Ave.

WESTWOOD: 8 p.m. Friday at the memorial at the south end of the train station.

WOODCLIFF LAKE: 7 p.m. Friday at the Jack D’Ambrosi Sports Complex at Lockwood Field, Woodcliff Avenue and Old Mill Road.

WOOD-RIDGE: 7 p.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Park, Valley Boulevard and Highland Avenue.
