Bergenfield's Ncjw Helps Kids Get Ready For New School Year

BERGENFIELD, NJ -- To help students who don't have the means to purchase their own school supplies or clothes, several members of National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County section in Bergenfield recently spent the afternoon packaging school supplies provided by members.

Backpacks, composition books, pens, pencils and crayons were in abundance. The supplies and six gift cards were organized into 20 backpacks and four large bags full of supplies, and distributed among the children at Youth Consultation Services Holley Center, Center for Hope and Safety, Bergen Family Center and Women's Rights Information Center.

The National Council of Jewish Women is a grass-roots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.
