NEW MIFLORD, N.J. — Tattoo Artist Galo Balseca of New Milford will open his own shop in Englewood within the next four weeks.
This location will include a secluded VIP room for his occasional celebrity clientele, such as New York Giants Cornerback Corey Webster or Rapper Juelz Santana.
Before tattoos, he made drawings.
His lettering style gained a following and some of his fans hoped he'd turn to tattoos.
"I was always drawing so all the people who knew me were stalking me when I got the tattoo equipment," said Balseca, the owner of NYCE Tattoos.
After working for another parlor in New York for 11 years, he decided it was time to open a place of his own. H
"I wanted a different-looking shop," he said.
"I didn’t want a regular tattoo shop. I wanted a high-end, luxury style."
The ideal location would be close to Route 4 since his clientele are mainly from New York City and New Jersey.
NYCE Tattoos will open by the new year. The shop is located at 15 Grand Ave, Englewood. Interested parties can email NYCEtattoos@gmail.com.
