BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- Several men and women from Pinnacle Foods helped Bergen County Habitat for Humanity to raise three walls on a Bergenfield home on Thursday, May 5.

The team build was in honor of National Women Build Week, Habitat Bergen noted in a Thursday Facebook post.

According to Pinnacle spokeswoman Kim Mound, the week coincided with Pinnacle Foods' company-wide volunteerism program, called Pinnacle ACTs -- Action Changes Things. It's the second year of its program, and "more than 1,000 employees volunteered at locations across North America to support the causes of food and shelter," Mound said.

Habitat Bergen has built or renovated over 20 homes since its 1994 founding: two in Teaneck, four in Hackensack, six in Englewood, two in East Rutherford, two in Waldwick, one in Garfield, two in Oradell and five in Little Ferry, according to its website.

If you're interested in helping, you can find the volunteer opportunities calendar here, and you can donate directly here.
