Bergenfield Knights Of Columbus Raise $17K For Local Groups

BERGENFIELD, N.J. – St. John’s Council #1345 Knights of Columbus, serving Bergenfield-Dumont, has raised $17,071 in spring donations for local groups.

Under the leadership of Grand Knight Larry Rivera, the money was donated to the following:

  • Scholarships: Two Catholic high school scholarships of $500 each, seven college scholarships of $1,000 each and a $100 scholarship to the Dumont High School Scholarship Fund, for a total of $8,100.
  • Developmentally disabled persons activities: $8,066 from the annual Knights of Columbus collection drive for developmentally disabled persons in April donated to local county agencies that provide special needs services, learning skills and support for the developmentally disabled.
  • Charitable donations: Collected $905 from the MNF Group and donated to the American Special Children’s Pilgrimage Group, who take intellectually disabled children to Lourdes, France, each year during Easter week.
