Dumont Knights Planning Two Octoberfest Events

DUMONT, N.J. -- Everyone is invited to celebrate the First Annual Octoberfest with the Dumont Knights on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Two events are planned by St. John’s Council #1345, Knights of Columbus, serving Bergenfield and Dumont. There is a free daytime event, and an additional evening German Fest.

No reservations are necessary for the outdoor event from 1-5 p.m. There will be music by "Seeking the Seeker," along with sausages, hot dogs, hamburgers, beverages and pretzels. 

Parking will be limited, but a complimentary shuttle service is offered throughout Bergenfield and Dumont. 

The night time party takes place from 7-11 p.m. and reservations are required. 

The council hall will be converted into a German Fest Hall with a festival atmosphere, German music and traditional Octoberfest food and beverages. 

The menu will include pretzels, knockwurst, bratwurst and sausage as well as a cold cut platter with cheese. 

The main course will be a traditional Oktoberfest meal of roasted chicken with red cabbage and German style potatoes. Dessert will be apple strudel.
