Registration opens at 7 a.m. The 5K starts at 9 a.m. and the Fun Run/Walk starts at 10 a.m.

T-shirts will be given to the first 150 runners, and there also will be a DJ, prizes and goody bags for kids.

The event is presented by Bergenfield PBA Local 309 and Bergenfield-Dumont Rotary Club at Bergenfield High School.

Bergenfield Awards will be given to the top three male/female runners ages 12-70+, and the course is USATF Certified.

Participants are asked to wear costumes for prizes and awards at the end of the races.

The Zombie Run is an apocalyptic 5K immersive experience. Participants are not running against a clock, but running from "brain-hungry, virus-spreading, bloody zombies."

Before the race, runners will be given a "flag belt," just like the game of flag football; these flags represent your health.

The zombies want to take participants' flags and "maybe eat your brains."

Participants' who lose all their health flags will receive the "Infected" medal at the finish line.

People finishing with a flag, will receive the "Survivor" medal at the finish line.
