The women cut and stained the siding for the exterior of a single-family home on Bergen Avenue.

They are part of TD Bank’s Power of Women, a women’s leadership initiative, which encourages women to mentor each other while connecting and networking with others.

The Bergenfield project is the future home of the Pimentel family.

“It was simply a WOW!derful experience and the team truly enjoyed the opportunity to help Habitat Bergen and the Pimentel family,” said Joanne Westphal, TD Bank vice president and Power of Women co-founder. Her team did the work last week.

The 1,900-square-foot home uses the latest environmental and energy-efficiency standards, including solar panels. It will feature three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, and one-car garage.

Since Habitat started its Women Build program two years ago, TD Bank’s Power of Women initiative has been supportive, according to Angela King, director of volunteers for Habitat Bergen, which is based in River Edge.

“Power of Women members have been at several of our Lowe’s Clinics, Golf Networking 101 Clinic at the PGA Superstore in Paramus, and now even on our construction worksite,” King said. “These women truly lead by example in the workforce and in the community.”
