Other moms couldn't understand it, but Caruso knew if she didn't feel good about herself her attitude would sink soon before she even left the house.

She recently opened a new women's fashion boutique, Sage and Vine on E. Madison Avenue in Dumont, targeted toward moms on the go, like herself.

Her philosophy is that looking good and feeling good should be nonnegotiables for all women.

"If you feel good about yourself, you'll have a better day," said the Cresskill mom.

"You're doing it for  yourself. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks."

Caruso tries to keep her prices low and the quality high.

The average pair of jeans go for $60, while leggings and sweaters average $40.

Caruso will be turning 50 next month. She stressed that age and size shouldn't play a factor in how anyone dresses or should feel about themselves.

"I have something for everyone because everyone is beautiful and special," she said. "I truly believe that."
